Grind LLC, a co-working space and professional development platform for growing businesses and independent professionals, appoints David Beale as Chief Executive Officer, and announces the expansion of two new locations in New York City: 140 West Street in the Financial District and 1216 Broadway in NoMad.

Grind LLC, a co-working space and professional development platform for growing businesses and independent professionals, announces today the appointment of entrepreneur and serviced-office industry pioneer, David Beale, as Chief Executive Officer. The move to appoint Beale comes as Grind also announces the company’s expansion to two new locations in New York City: 140 West Street in the Financial District and 1216 Broadway in NoMad.

“With over 15.5 million independent professionals throughout the US, and new business formation steadily on the rise, it is well established that today’s entrepreneurs need a new model for office space,” said Benjamin Dyett, a Grind co-founder. “We believe that Grind is filling a need in the market that is not otherwise being met. In addition to modern, fresh workspaces, Grind offers a community that encourages collaboration and learning, both of which are critical to entrepreneurial success. We are very excited to enter a new chapter of growth and believe that David is exactly the right partner to help us take the company to the next level. David is a strong executive with a national reputation for leading rapid growth in site based service businesses.”

David, a pioneer in the serviced office industry, was the founder and Chief Executive Officer of VANTAS, an international office-as-a-service company. Under Beale’s leadership, VANTAS grew from a single location to over 200 locations throughout the US, Europe and South America. Early in 2000, Beale led the strategic merger of VANTAS with HQ Global Workplaces. Beale went on to serve as a Board Member and Advisor to several small cap and middle market companies. He is also a real estate investor, focused on residential investment and commercial multi-family rental properties.

“I was looking for the right opportunity to lead a forward-thinking company that understands and leverages the new way so many of us are working today and will be in the future,” said Beale. “Grind is aligned with my way of thinking, both from a real estate and business perspective, and as CEO and an equity owner, I strongly believe that Grind’s flexible, frictionless, collaborative and creative atmosphere will serve as a platform to enable small businesses to succeed. Shared workspaces like Grind are increasingly replacing traditional office spaces for most entrepreneurs and represent a rapid growth sector over the next several years,” Beale continued.

Beale’s appointment as CEO comes on the heels of Grind’s recent announcement of a collaborative partnership with Verizon to create a co-working space at Verizon’s landmark building at 140 West Street in lower Manhattan. The unique space will offer the startup and entrepreneurial communities of lower Manhattan access to Grind's suite of pricing options, premium aesthetic and culture of innovation. This, combined with Verizon's technology and real estate expertise will deliver a powerful workplace experience to users of the space.

Pre-opening membership are now available at both new locations. For more information about Grind, visit http://www.grindspaces.com.
