Wage Parity Clarity is a health benefit program run by the regional occupational health provider who specializes in home care pre-employment and annual exams. The expansion of wage parity increases to Suffolk, Nassau, and Westchester counties has been anticipated for a while, but on March 1st the new increases become official. In place since 2012, the Wage Parity Act is a form of compensation to the healthcare worker that includes a combination of a living wage and supplemental or additional wages. Subscribers to Wage Parity Clarity benefit from providing their home care workers an annual health benefit, which includes and exceeds all components of New York’s annual exam requirements. This combination provides the workers with annual medical access and a full physical that allows them to stay compliant with the Department of Health regulations covering home care screenings.

Agencies who elect to provide for the increase in a salary form will realize that their contribution is subject to double payroll taxation, by the employer and employee. Also, any salary increases much be included in FLSA time-and-a-half rates.
