Mediaplanet, Chef Douglas Rodriguez and Travel Industry Leaders Dish on the Essentials of Cuban Travel
New York, NY (PRWEB) February 26, 2016 -- Mediaplanet's print component of “Discover Cuba” is distributed within today’s edition of USA Today, in New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta and South Florida, with a circulation of approximately 250,000 copies and an estimated readership of 700,000 in print alone. The digital component is distributed nationally, through a vast social media strategy, and across a network of top news sites and partner outlets. Chef Douglas Rodriguez, co-owner along with restaurateur Stephen Starr, of Alma de Cuba in Philadelphia, graces the interior spread of the print publication. Through an exclusive interview, the self-proclaimed food obsessive opens up about his first trip to Cuba, explaining why it was much more than a culinary turning point. “My first visit to Cuba was in 2013, for the Havana Biennial Art Exhibition,” Douglas says. “I became so fascinated. I returned home wanting to hold onto that magic I felt there—sad to not have had more time.”
Rodriguez’s hope with these tours is that he wants to make a difference and impact in travelers’ lives, providing them with a full experience and have them seek out that magic he felt on his first trip. While his love for food began at a young age and throughout his adulthood, he has continued to outdo himself, winning numerous awards including the prestigious James Beard Award for excellence in cuisine.
This campaign was made possible with the support of Trip Advisor, Cuba Travel Associates, Fathom, Chef Douglas Rodriguez, Alma de Cuba and co-owner Stephen Starr, Zegrahm Expeditions, HavanaAir, interCaribbean Airways, Friendly Planet and many more.
