The Peggy Smedley Institute Will Bring Together IoT Leaders
Carol Stream, IL (PRWEB) March 01, 2016 -- Specialty Publishing Co., publishers of Connected World magazine and home of The Peggy Smedley Show, is proud to announce the formation and inaugural meeting of the Peggy Smedley Institute (PSI) to be held on Monday, April 4 in San Francisco, Calif., at the Hilton San Francisco Union Square Hotel.
The full-day event, which is a spinoff of the Connected World Conference, will consist of education and networking sessions, along with breakfast and lunch, tabletop product displays, and a welcome reception that will culminate in a dinner celebrating the 2016 Connected World WoM2M (Women of M2M) IoT (Internet of Things) winners.
Anyone interested in learning more about the Internet of Things is invited to attend, including: top level executives, presidents, CIOs, VPs, manufacturing managers, and industrial engineers.
There is a greater need than ever to educate as the IoT continues to play a grand role in tackling the problems of the aging, public and private infrastructures, and revamping industrial manufacturing operations. There is a shift in manufacturing. Things are getting smarter, more social. Making smart machines requires new, out-of-the-box thinking. The old factory paradigm no longer applies.
“Manufacturing is in a transitory state,” says Peggy Smedley, editorial director of Connected World magazine and host of The Peggy Smedley Show. “The old factory paradigm no longer applies. Our focus of the Institute is to provide attendees with an understanding of the new manufacturing paradigm created by the Internet of Things.”
While attendees will also gain a better understanding on how the IoT relates to concepts such as innovation, maintenance, repair, and service, a major portion of the day’s discussions will highlight manufacturing and how new advancements in IoT are reinventing old infrastructures for the future. Business owners and managers will learn to adopt these new changes in ways that will make their system applications smarter and compatible with other machines.
