VMRay today announced a collaboration with Dell to integrate its technology into the Dell SonicWALL Capture Advanced Threat Protection (ATP) Service. Dell will incorporate VMRay 3rd generation threat analysis technology as part of a multi-layered automated threat analysis and blocking solution. By leveraging the agentless hypervisor-based technology of VMRay Analyzer as part of a multi-layer advanced analysis, Dell SonicWALL Capture ATP automates blocking at the gateway and remediation of the most evasive and dangerous threats.

Customer needs are no longer adequately being met by traditional, signature-based anti-virus and anti-malware solutions in today’s fast-evolving threat landscape. When signature-based solutions can’t identify whether a file is a potential threat, network sandboxes can open the file in a controlled, monitored environment and analyze the resulting behavior. This dynamic behavioral analysis can provide a determination of maliciousness in the absence of any prior knowledge about the threat. VMRay’s unique hypervisor-based approach to analysis delivers scalability and completeness of results that other approaches can’t match.
