Volpara Solutions, the leading provider of volumetric breast density and quantitative breast imaging tools, announced that imaging industry veteran Julian Marshall has joined the company as Chief Marketing Officer.

His combined expertise in engineering and global product management is unique and we expect this to help drive the continued growth and adoption of our suite of quantitative imaging tools,” said Ralph Highnam, Ph.D., CEO of Volpara Solutions.

Marshall is a seasoned executive with more than 30 years of engineering and product management experience. He has spent the past 22 years at leading breast imaging technology companies, R2 Technology and Hologic, Inc, holding increasingly senior positions in engineering management and global product management. Most recently, Marshall was Director, Global Strategic Innovation at Hologic, where he was responsible for planning of future product roadmaps.

Marshall holds many patents in the areas of computer-aided detection, user interfaces and workflow, with a focus in breast imaging. Additionally, he has served as a contributing author with DICOM Working Groups 8 and 15 and the IHE Technical Committee subgroup on Mammography. Marshall holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of California, Santa Barbara and Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Santa Clara University.
