Allsup supports the National Association of Social Workers in recognizing the nationwide contributions of social workers during National Social Work Month in March.

Social workers engage in numerous roles and multidisciplinary teams through their work in case management and care coordination, resulting in a range of opportunity to celebrate their work as agents for change, according to Allsup. During National Social Work Month in March, Allsup celebrates this far-reaching influence with the National Association of Social Workers. Allsup is a nationwide provider of Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) representation, veterans disability appeal, re-employment, exchange plan and Medicare plan selection services.

With 130,000 members, the NASW engages with and supports its members in a broad scope of issues and areas of practice to improve the well-being of individuals, families and communities.

“Social workers’ active engagement in our environment and with our clients provides us with important insights into our changing world,” said NASW President Darrell Wheeler, Ph.D., MPH, ACSW. “NASW members and the larger social work community are actively engaged in programs and processes that address the social, health and human needs of our communities now—knowing the groundwork they lay will be reflected in how our profession evolves in the future.”

NASW members work as case managers, educators, community leaders, specialists, consultants, researchers, policymakers and private practitioners in more than 50 fields. Their workplace settings include hospices and hospitals, schools, clinics, businesses, military units, foundations, and private and public agencies.

The 2016 NASW National Conference with the theme, “Leading Change, Transforming Lives,” is scheduled for June 22-25 in Washington, D.C.

“Social workers interact with people in areas of access to healthcare, chronic health conditions, aging, physical and mental health treatment, caregiving, and many other areas of health and well-being,” said Karen Hercules-Doerr, national sales director of Consumer Sales at Allsup. “Allsup is grateful, especially for the role of social workers in ensuring people with disabilities can access the important benefits and services necessary to lead lives that are as financially secure and healthy as possible.”

Allsup congratulates the National Association of Social Workers for its achievements and growth, and honors social workers nationwide for their valuable contributions to their clients and patients, families and communities.
