A new "Behind The Scenes" segment for Public Television with James Earl Jones looks into the practice of Fracking
(PRWEB) March 03, 2016 -- In a new and upcoming segment of the critically acclaimed documentary short-form series, “Behind the Scenes” host James Earl Jones (Star Wars, Conan the Barbarian) will present a discussion on the heated topic of Fracking.
The most common term for Hydraulic Fracturing, “Fracking” is a deeply controversial method of removing natural gas which has been trapped inside of rock formations over great expanses of geological time. The technique of extracting relatively clean and energy-rich fuel has been linked to very destructive and unpredictable earthquakes, the destruction of cherished natural landscapes, and with the contamination of water supplies all over the continental United States. Activists and scientists blame energy companies of willfully ignoring the danger signs which have appeared in the ground water supplies and in the people who live in the communities where this contaminated water is used. Is the government to blame for enabling these energy companies to utilize potentially reckless fuel harvesting techniques? If so, how far have they gone in the wrong direction- and what is to be done about it now? A variety of experts will discuss these topics in the forthcoming segment.
Behind The Scenes is an award-winning television series dedicated to educating the public on domestic issues. It is distributed to PBS and APT stations around the country and is an independent production not affiliated with APT or PBS.
