RE/MAX Agents Donate Over $9 Million in 2015 for 170 Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals
Salt Lake City, UT (PRWEB) March 03, 2016 -- RE/MAX agents across North America raised more than $9 million for kids treated at Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals® in 2015. Through the Miracle Home® and Miracle Property programs, offices and agents across the United States and Canada invested in their communities by making donations — on behalf of their customers — to local children’s hospitals.
Since partnering with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals in 1992, RE/MAX agents have raised more than $147 million for the charity’s 170 member hospitals in the U.S. and Canada. Donations help fund pediatric medical equipment and treatments, healthcare services and charitable care. For some agents, these donations are very personal, helping kids in their own families and neighborhoods.
“The highly specialized care available at children’s hospitals is both astonishing and reassuring,” said John Lauck, president and CEO of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. “What most people don’t realize, however, is that child-specific equipment, technology, research and life-saving treatments at member hospitals are possible because of community donations. RE/MAX agents are saving kids’ lives by making donations through the Miracle Home and Miracle Property programs after closing transactions.”
In addition to Miracle Home and Miracle Property contributions, RE/MAX offices and agents generate donations through golf tournaments, benefit dinners, auctions and other community fundraisers. Many agents also visit children’s hospitals and volunteer their time to further support the 10 million kids who receive treatment at member Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals each year.
"RE/MAX agents are the most generous people I know, and they understand how important their ongoing support of CMN Hospitals is to the children who are treated at member hospitals," says Mike Reagan, RE/MAX Senior Vice President, Business Alliances. "When agents meet a miracle child whose life has been changed by the amazing work happening at local hospitals, they realize they're part of that child's story. That's the magic of the Miracle Home and Miracle Property programs."
RE/MAX donations help kids like 10-year-old Camryn, who received care at SSM Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center, the Children’s Miracle Network Hospital serving St. Louis. Camryn was born six weeks premature with a congenital heart defect and multiple orthopedic issues. After a dozen surgeries and being told she may never walk, talk or see, Camryn is a walking, talking and country music-singing miracle. Now in the fourth grade, Camryn loves listening to Taylor Swift, writing songs and playing school.
Camryn joined nearly 6,000 agents at the RE/MAX R4 Convention in Las Vegas, Feb. 29 – March 3. She enjoyed being on-stage with Opening General Session host Jay Leno, inspiring agents to bid high at a live auction and modeling spring fashion at a show sponsored by Dillard's. RE/MAX agents contributed $150,000 toward their 2016 fundraising goal during throughout the event.
This summer, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals will launch a new Miracle System, making it easier for RE/MAX agents and offices to help local kids like Camryn. The secure, online website will streamline agent donations and the process of agents customizing Honor Cards for their clients. The cards let buyers and sellers know the agent made a donation to the local hospital in their name.
