New Software Incorporated into CDS Early Case Assessment (ECA) Toolkit and Analytics Workflow

Complete Discovery Source (CDS), a leading eDiscovery provider, today announced that it has added auto-identification and redaction capabilities for Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and Personal Health Information (PHI). Built into CDS’ Relativity platform, this software automatically identifies key forms of PII including social security numbers, employer identification numbers, and financial record information. Once identified, data can be automatically redacted to ensure compliance with US federal legislation including HIPAA, HITECH, and the Federal Privacy Act as well as with strict cross-border regulations.

CDS’ auto-redaction offering also enables users to perform mass redactions across keyword searches, speeding the eDiscovery process when dealing with vast data stores. CDS also offers new software that enables users to apply redactions to native Excel files. By using these auto-redaction capabilities, clients will benefit from significant cost savings over traditional redaction workflows.

“With identification and auto-redaction for PII, our clients can easily find and ensure the security of sensitive information,” said Garrett Bendel, Chief Operating Officer of CDS. “This offering will provide peace of mind by supplementing the efforts of reviewers and helping to avoid the inadvertent disclosure of confidential data.”

CDS is one of the largest Relativity providers (Orange-level Best in Service) and is the first provider to deploy the Relativity suite end-to-end including Legal Hold, Collection, Processing, Review, Analytics, and Binders. CDS recently announced its proprietary CDS ECA tool that enables clients to reduce costs by eliminating non-relevant data while providing insight into data sets earlier in the discovery process.
