American Endowment Foundation (AEF), the country’s largest independent donor advised fund, has expanded its capabilities in international grant making. Their partnership with GlobalGiving will make international grantmaking easier and more secure.

American Endowment Foundation (AEF), the country’s largest independent donor advised fund, has expanded its capabilities in international grant making.

“In 2015, our donors gave nearly $14 million in grants to qualified U.S charities that have field-based initiatives in foreign countries. Because the rules and regulations for evaluating whether a foreign-based charity is the “equivalent” to a U.S. public charity are complicated and difficult to satisfy, our donor’s options for international grantmaking have been limited, “ said Phil Tobin, Chairman and Co-Founder of American Endowment Foundation.

“We are excited about the opportunity to now work closely with GlobalGiving in providing our donors and their trusted advisors with a seamless, cost-efficient, and transparent way for processing of grants to foreign-based charities. I’m certain that international grantmaking by our donors will continue to grow due to our new arrangement with GlobalGiving.”

Donna Callejon, Chief Business Officer, GlobalGiving stated, "We ascribe to the notion that making grants internationally requires more than just ensuring the organization is registered. We're excited to be providing our thorough and proven approach to due diligence to AEF and its donors."
