Fastspot, an interactive design agency headquartered in Baltimore, partnered with the DePauw School of Music to launch a redesign of its website: music.depauw.edu.
The redesigned site highlights the School’s innovative approach to music education, capturing its progressive nature with a bold design that promotes the defining qualities of the School’s 21st Century Musician Initiative.

Both teams were excited to leverage audio and video content within a bolder, more contemporary design system. “The team at DePauw School of Music had their level of enthusiasm cranked up to 11,” said Jesse Leyh, a designer at Fastspot. “It spilled over into our creative process and pushed us to think about multimedia, especially audio, in new ways. We love to design outside the box, and we’re always thrilled when a client gives us that opportunity.”
Work on the redesigned site included discovery and needs assessment, information architecture, design, and development with the BigTree content management system.
”The manner in which Fastspot integrated our site into BigTree makes it easy to update, rearrange, and grow the site. One of our biggest concerns was updating the same material in multiple locations – Fastspot solved that problem for us, developing modules that push the new content to every part of the site,” said Linville.
