DWS Supports New Simplified Upgrade Process for Oracle’s JD Edwards EnterpriseOne
High Wycombe, England (PRWEB UK) 15 March 2016 -- The Simplified Upgrade process gives users more time to focus on business process continuity for processes that do not change during the upgrade, and more importantly use the upgrade time to address other business challenges with new features or functionality. In short, the new Simplified Upgrade process will help JD Edwards EnterpriseOne clients stay current and potentially receive a better return on their investment.
DWS was among a select group of Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN) members chosen to participate in the beta programme for the new Simplified Upgrade process. DWS maintains a number of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne configurations in its in-house data centre to enable it to provide quality services to its customers.
To coincide with the release of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.2, DWS has also launched two new testing solutions, Dimension Focus and Dimension SwifTest. These solutions aim to simplify the testing process when organizations upgrade to the latest release of JD Edwards and then adopt a policy to keep their code at the latest release, often referred to as “code current”.
This beta program tested the new Simplified Upgrade Process and also educated DWS’ technology team on the features available to enable it to continue its services that make upgrades predictable, faster and more reliable.
“The Oracle JD Edwards team continues to build great software,” said Lyle Ekdahl, senior vice president general manager, Oracle JD Edwards. “With the release of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.2, we wanted to place an emphasis on a simpler upgrade process so users can capitalize on the new enhancements as quickly as possible. DWS has been very supportive during the beta testing phase and is one of the most experienced upgrade members in the JD Edwards community.”
“Minimizing the effort and disruption when upgrading Oracle’s JD Edwards has always been a goal for JD Edwards customers,” said Barry Burke, Managing Director at DWS. “For some years, DWS has used our innovative and proprietary tools to help reduce our customers’ modified footprint and enable us to deliver fixed price, fixed timescale upgrades using our Best Upgrade Approach. The new Simplified Upgrade process from Oracle, when combined with DWS’s capabilities can provide among the best upgrade experiences for our customers.”
