You are responsible for your own potential. Don’t let anything steal your spirit.

(PRWEB) March 03, 2016 -- Everyone faces trials in life, and while those experiences may shape us, they do not have to keep us down, according to Rosa Flores.

Flores was raised in Mexico, but fled her small farm town to escape her father’s abuse at the age of 14. Inspired by her own experiences, Flores tells the story of a girl not much different than herself in her new novel, “Dalia: Lost Youth.”

The title character, Dalia, must grow up quickly as she becomes responsible for the welfare of her siblings before the age of five. She faces abuse from her father from a young age and is later kidnapped.

The author hopes readers will take heart in Dalia’s strength through immeasurable despair.

“You are responsible for your own potential,” Flores said. “Don’t let anything steal your spirit.”

Just like her character, Flores has not let her own potential be stifled: after leaving Mexico, she met her husband and became successful in the business world.
