By striking out on our own, we can provide clients with the best of both worlds: the sophisticated service and know-how expected from a traditional, large top-tier firm, combined with the personalized, hands-on care and value of a boutique firm.

Benson Siebenhausen, a boutique law firm, has opened its doors in Dallas, Texas. The firm brings its experience representing clients in high-stakes oil and gas litigation to the greater DFW area. Additionally, Benson Siebenhausen handles diverse, complex matters for businesses and corporations. These matters typically involve mergers and acquisitions, commercial transactions, business formations, contracts, franchising, real estate, supplier and vendor agreements, operating agreements, shareholder agreements as well as employment and labor issues.
“We all have backgrounds at big firms and the experience and training that go along with that. By striking out on our own, we can provide clients with the best of both worlds: the sophisticated service and know-how expected from a traditional, large top-tier firm, combined with the personalized, hands-on care and value of a boutique firm,” explains Brandon Benson. “Ultimately, we wanted to build a firm that would allow us to serve our clients better.”
Founding partner, Brandon Benson, began his legal career at the nationally recognized law firm Locke Lord LLP, where he quickly gravitated to oil and gas law. He went on to serve as the Oil and Gas General Counsel IV for the General Land Office of the State of Texas, and then worked in the private sector for a large, publicly traded mineral and royalty company, where he oversaw all of the land and legal processes related to the mineral and working interest operations and acquisitions. Brandon regularly counsels clients in acquisitions and dispositions of leasehold and mineral properties and the negotiation of leases, contracts and other agreements related to upstream oil and gas.
Lesley Siebenhausen, also a founding partner of the firm, has extensive oil and gas law experience as well. After training as a litigator at Fletcher & Springer, Lesley transitioned into oil and gas, initially performing oil and gas title examination. She also oversaw several large due diligence projects for leasehold acquisitions as a land manager for a large land services company. Lesley’s current practice includes examining oil and gas title, rendering title opinions, and preparing documents for oil and gas transactions, such as purchase and sale agreements, joint operating agreements, and related assignments. She also counsels clients on the acquisitions of producing and undeveloped mineral properties.
“In addition to traditional law firm training, we have hands-on experience working in-house as well,” says Lesley Siebenhausen. “We understand how legal counsel affects a business’ day-to-day operations. We’ve spent time in the trenches solving these problems first-hand, so we know that businesses have limited legal budgets and often need to resolve matters quickly. Our streamlined services cut out the unnecessary expenses and wasted time while creating workable solutions that keep our clients’ business goals in mind.”
Sarah Wariner joins the firm from Strasburger & Price. An astute business litigator, Sarah focuses her practice on complex contract disputes, mortgage defense litigation, oil and gas disputes, class action litigation, insurance litigation, financial services litigation, cyber law and employment litigation.
Ellen Miers Peeples launched her career as a litigator at Locke Lord LLP, where she gained wide-ranging trial and appellate experience representing clients in a wide variety of matters in both state and federal courts. She focuses her practice in the areas of energy and business litigation, antitrust law, and appellate law.
Benson Siebenhausen, PLLC is a law firm committed to providing clients excellent legal services. The Firm represents the legal interests of businesses generally with a special focus on high-stakes oil and gas litigation and transactions.
