Camarillo, Calif. (PRWEB) March 11, 2016
OmniUpdate, the leading web content management system (CMS) provider for higher education, welcomed Camarillo Mayor Mike Morgan to the company’s offices today as it announced completion of remodeling on more than 6,653 square feet of new office space. Expansion was driven by solid growth and the resulting need for additional employees. The latest expansion means OmniUpdate (http://www.omniupdate.com) has more than tripled its office space in just over five years. The company now leases a total of 21,527 square feet on Flynn Road in Camarillo, making it one of the largest private sector office tenants in the city.
“OmniUpdate is a major employer in Camarillo, and a leader in Camarillo’s growing technology sector,” said Mayor Mike Morgan. “We’re thrilled that after years of growth, this hometown company is creating an additional 20 new skilled, full-time jobs by the end of the year.”
“We’ve been fortunate to more than double our staff over the last four years, thanks to growth in the number of colleges and universities using our OU Campus™ content management system to manage their websites,” said OmniUpdate President and CEO Lance Merker. “To support our customers and this growth, we’re adding nearly 20 additional positions by the end of the year.”
Founded in 1982, OmniUpdate moved its headquarters to Camarillo in 1993. More than 60,000 college and university web professionals worldwide use its OU Campus CMS. The company reported a 25 percent increase in new customers in 2015, and a 98 percent customer retention rate over the last five years.
“OmniUpdate grew up in Camarillo. We benefit from Camarillo’s highly educated workforce and a steady stream of interns and graduates from California State University Channel Islands,” said Merker. “Camarillo’s near-perfect weather and great schools throughout Ventura County make it easy to recruit talent. Adding good tech and support jobs to the local economy is one way we work to give back to the community that has been so supportive of us.”
