TruShield Security Solutions, Inc. Serves As Inaugural Sponsor for Children's Law Center Event
Dulles, VA (PRWEB) March 12, 2016 -- TruShield Security Solutions, Inc., a global cyber security company providing continuous security monitoring solutions, was the inaugural sponsor of the breakfast event for Children’s Law Center on Tuesday, March 8, 2016. Senator Heidi Heitkamp (ND) spoke about the importance of federally funded programs to support trauma-informed services, particularly for children and Native American communities.
“We are proud to be the inaugural breakfast sponsor of Children’s Law Center’s 2016 events season, and meet Senator Heitkamp, whose work helping children is an inspiration,” said Paul Caiazzo, Principal and Chief Security Architect of TruShield. “Interestingly, when looking at the work of Children’s Law Center, TruShield takes a similar-in-spirit approach to protecting clients.” Paul continued, “We contextualize the support and guidance we give our clients, similar to how Children’s Law Center works to protect their clients. That shift in mindset, to understand a client’s needs in the right way, is the key differentiator for our clients, and Children’s Law Center’s clients as well. This is an organization that truly makes meaningful differences in the lives of the people they support. I’d encourage everyone to read about the amazing work Children’s Law Center is achieving, and to become involved.”
“I am thrilled to have TruShield as a new partner in our work to fight for the safety and stability of DC’s most vulnerable children,” said Judith Sandalow, Executive Director, Children’s Law Center. “In addition to helping us elevate the issue of childhood trauma through their breakfast sponsorship, TruShield is providing guidance so our attorneys follow cyber security best practices that protect the confidentiality of children.”
The event was hosted at the Washington, D.C. offices of the international law firm Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP, and began with breakfast and networking. Opening remarks were made by Ted Segal, Children’s Law Center’s Board Chair and a partner at Stradley Ronon Stevens & Young LLP, Michael Rossetti, Partner at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP, and Paul Caiazzo, Principal and Chief Security Architect at TruShield. Senator Heitkamp then spoke about trauma-informed services, discussing her own experiences and how to increase better health and education outcomes for children. Judith Sandalow connected the Senators remarks to Children’s Law Center’s work in this arena, including research highlighted in Children’s Law Center’s 2015 report Addressing Childhood Trauma in DC Schools. The report shows young children’s brain development is affected by exposure to trauma, negatively impacting everything from language development to emotional responses. There was then time for a brief question-and-answer session with the Senator.
