Maxx Orthopedics Announces First Surgeries with Freedom® PCK Revision System
Plymouth Meeting, PA (PRWEB) March 10, 2016 -- On the heels of a successful launch at the 2016 AAOS Annual Meeting last week, Maxx Orthopedics, Inc., today announced the first surgeries performed using the PCK Components.
The Freedom® revision system combines the Freedom Stemmed Tibial components with the patent-pending PCK femoral components and constrained liners, to create one of the most bone conserving, low profile revision knee systems available on the market.
Dr. Carl Becker of Brain Orthopedic Spine Specialists in Lancaster, PA performed the first cases using the Freedom PCK System. Also in attendance was long-time Freedom Knee user Dr. Joel Coutinho, a Senior Orthopedic Consultant at Al Hayat & Atlas Hospitals in Muscat, Oman.
"The progressive constraint that the knee offers is unique. I believe giving my patients the ability to have more constraint in extension and less constraint in flexion will lead to better outcomes. This system is the only one I know that offers this feature to patients,” said Dr. Becker.
This complete revision knee replacement system was developed to provide a wide variety of component size and stability configurations, while conserving bone. It offers a constrained option to surgeons whose patients require additional stability, without significantly compromising range of motion and rotation.
