PharmMD Honors Employees Selected for Pharmacy Quality Alliance Advisory Panels & Tennessee Pharmacist Association Legislative Committees
Nashville, TN (PRWEB) March 14, 2016 -- Stacey Grant, PharmD, Ryan Dacus, PharmD, and Jeana Cartwright, RN of PharmMD were each selected as members on the PQA Stakeholder Advisory Panels C (Grant), B (Dacus), D and A (Cartwright.). PQA measures are developed by small, technically proficient Measure Development Teams (MDTs) and Task Forces (TFs) who have applied for or been invited to work on developing specific measure concepts based on their individual skills and experience. MDTs and TFs benefit by having their development work reviewed by larger groups, Stakeholder Advisory Panels (SAPs).
As a member of SAP C, Grant will be working on 3 measures: Polypharmacy/Inappropriate/Unnecessary Therapy; Duplicate Therapy; and Double Threat: Concurrent Use of Opioids and Benzodiazepines. Dacus will be charged with addressing two measures in SAP B: MTM Patient Survey and MTM Drug Therapy Problem Resolution. A member of 2 separate SAPs, Cartwright, will be tasked with developing measures for SAP A: Multiple Sclerosis Treatment and Monitoring Task Force, Adherence to Immunosuppressants Post Kidney Transplant, and Chronic Hepatitis C: Persistence/Gap in Therapy. SAP D will review over Hospital Admissions or ED visits Associated with Anticoagulant Medications and will oversee the Adult Immunization Task Forces
In addition to Grant’s membership on the PQA Stakeholder Advisory Panel C, she was also a selected member of the PQA Immunization Task Force 2: Immunizations Status Assessment in Medication Therapy Management, as well as appointed Co-Chair of the Tennessee Pharmacist Association (TPA) Legislative Policy Committee for 2016. TPA’s Legislative and Regulatory Policy Committee serves as the advisory body on legislation and works closely with Tennessee PharmPAC.
“It’s a great honor to be a part of this advisory board and assist in the development and implementation of policies that will affect the pharmacies and pharmacists of Tennessee,” remarked Grant.
“We are very proud of these three exceptional PharmMD employees. Each bring a great deal of experience, knowledge and integrity to their appointed committee. They will represent other pharmacists, RNs and healthcare professionals, as well as PharmMD, to the highest caliber,” commented PharmMD CEO Bob Yeager.
