Echoing Green Announces Keno Sadler to Join as Vice President of Programs
New York, NY (PRWEB) March 16, 2016 -- Echoing Green, a nonprofit organization dedicated to identifying, supporting, and launching social entrepreneurs, is pleased to announce that Keno Sadler, formerly the executive director of the Summerbridge Breakthrough Alumni Network (SBAN), is joining the organization as vice president of programs.
“We are thrilled and honored to have Keno Sadler join Echoing Green,” said Cheryl L. Dorsey, president of Echoing Green. “Keno is not only a social entrepreneur who has a drive and desire to make an impact, he was also an Echoing Green Fellow in 1997 and deeply understands our organization, our community, and our mission.”
Sadler, an internationally recognized leader, entrepreneur, and educator, was raised in Connecticut, New York, and North Carolina, and after enlisting in the United States Navy, was selected to participate in an officer candidate program, which granted a full college scholarship to program graduates. After successfully graduating, he attended Morehouse College in Atlanta. In 1997, Keno received an Echoing Green Fellowship to support his initiative, Breakthrough Atlanta. He launched the organization to provide a pathway to college for traditionally underserved Atlanta-area school students and to provide teacher training experiences for high school and college students. Most recently, Keno has been serving as executive director of the Summerbridge Breakthrough Alumni Network (SBAN), an international organization supporting over 3,000 members with a goal of eventually reconnecting with and supporting the over 20,000 alumni of the Summerbridge and Breakthrough programs.
“As a 1997 Fellow who has continuously benefited from Echoing Green’s ongoing commitment to identifying, preparing, and supporting social entrepreneurs, I am thankful to Cheryl and the Board for the opportunity to join Echoing Green as VP of programs,” said Sadler. “I have been inspired by Echoing Green’s leadership across varied and important areas of social impact, and I’m excited to bring my expertise and the lessons I’ve learned since my Fellowship back to Echoing Green in this new role.”
In his role at Echoing Green, Keno will oversee the Fellowship program and other innovative leadership initiatives to unleash next-generation talent to solve the world’s biggest problems. Over the past two decades, Keno has remained an active member of the Echoing Green community and has participated as an evaluator, judge, and mentor to Echoing Green Fellows – a group of almost 700 social entrepreneurs around the world.
Dorsey stated, “Keno brings an incredible set of experiences and expertise around social entrepreneurship, leadership development, and diversity and inclusion to Echoing Green. We know that he will strengthen the capacity of our organization, and bring big, bold ideas to support the past and future classes of emerging entrepreneurs ready to change the world.”
