Boston Grads Shoot and Score NHL Dream Job, Thanks to CSB!
Boston, MA (PRWEB) March 14, 2016 -- Many opportunities in this industry do not come along by accident. Mostly it is “Right place, right time, right skill sets”. Otherwise known as hard work and networking. 5 Connecticut School of Broadcasting Boston graduates were the recipient of a perfect timing opportunity just a few weeks ago and the end result was a paid gig at one of Boston’s biggest NHL events!
The National Hockey League held it’s annual national showcase “The Winter Classic” at the home of the New England Patriots, Gillette Stadium, and featured one of the biggest rivalries in the NHL-the Boston Bruins hosting the Montreal Canadians. There was also an alumni game and a women’s hockey game over those few days as well. CSB Boston Director, Steve Williams, says the five graduates were from different classes over the past few years and had a few things in common. “ All my grads had two things in common, well actually three, a passion for broadcasting/media, CSB and John Upton, one of our longtime TV instructors with about 30 years of TV experience. John not only teaches, but mentors grads and was instrumental in helping them in their journey.”
Congratulations to CSB Boston grads Ed Demallistre (freelance camera and PA for NHL Network), Cat Chandler (audio/video freelancer), Paul Duddy (senior photog for ABC6 in Providence), Bryan Brennan (NESN cameraman/photog) and Kyra Lasorsa (freelancing for the entertainment booking company). Along with that two CSB instructors John Upton (TV/Network camera) and Mike Riley (sports reporter for 98.5 The Sports Hub and WBZ-AM) were also working the events.
