Bestselling Author, Motivational Speaker and Recovery Coach Assumes New Role to Inspire Hope for Recovery in Patients and Families Impacted by Eating Disorders

Eating Recovery Center, the only national, vertically integrated, health care system dedicated to the treatment of serious eating disorders, announced today that Jenni Schaefer has joined the company as a National Recovery Advocate of Eating Recovery Center’s Family Institute. A bestselling author, leading motivational speaker and recovery coach, Schaefer will serve a key role on Eating Recovery Center’s national marketing team.

In an effort to increase awareness of eating disorders, treatment services, and the path to recovery, Schaefer will participate in national media events and social media efforts exclusively for Eating Recovery Center. She will also serve as a crucial source of support and knowledge to alumni, families and professionals on behalf of Eating Recovery Center.

After graduating summa cum laude from Texas A&M University with a degree in biochemistry, Schaefer moved to Nashville to pursue singing and songwriting, then dealt with the devastating consequences of an eating disorder that nearly derailed her life. Now recovered for over ten years, Schaefer is the author of several books including Life Without Ed: How One Woman Declared Independence from Her Eating Disorder and How You Can Too (McGraw-Hill) and Goodbye Ed, Hello Me: Recover from Your Eating Disorder and Fall in Love with Life (McGraw-Hill). In addition, Schaefer is a leading motivational speaker and recovery coach who discusses various topics including addiction and food disorders, relationships, depression, careers as well as overcoming adversity and living life to the fullest. An avid biker and hiker, and a woman whose passion for life is contagious, Schaefer lives in Austin, Texas.
