Sprout Social Launches Landscape Image-Resizing Platform
Chicago (PRWEB) March 15, 2016 -- Today Sprout Social announced the launch of its newest tool, Landscape. The free image-resizing program enables anyone—from social media marketers to business owners—to optimize a single image for different social networks.
Sprout developed Landscape to address a longstanding need for a comprehensive social-image-resizing tool that makes managing social easier. From cover photos to individual posts, the networks frequently change their dimension requirements, and artwork is often awkwardly cropped, distortions abound and crucial content can be left behind once a file has been uploaded.
Landscape by Sprout Social provides a seamless solution—with a foolproof preview—ensuring that every image meets each network’s specifications so that the integrity or meaning of visual information is not changed or compromised in any way.
“Sprout’s goal is to provide solutions that continuously improve communication between people and brands,” said Justyn Howard, CEO of Sprout. “Images are a critical component of that effort and, when packaged in a professional way, elevate a brand’s social presence significantly and increase community engagement.”
The inspiration for Landscape came from a popular article on Sprout’s company blog. First published in June 2014, the company’s “Always Up-to-Date Guide to Social Media Image Sizes” lists each social network’s requirements for image dimensions. This regularly-updated article has been shared nearly 8,000 times to date and become a go-to resource for social media managers, which signified a greater marketplace need.
In recognition of that opportunity, a team began transforming the image sizes guide into a more interactive product during Sprout’s first-ever Hack Week, a period in December where different departments come together to tackle innovative projects.
“There is a definite need for a product like this in the marketplace, and we wanted to deliver a solution that would improve the overall social media management experience,” said Arnita Hayden, Senior Product Manager at Sprout. “We’ve built a free tool that is not only necessary and functional but also elegant and easy to use.”
Landscape is the latest offering from Sprout, which last month closed a $42 million funding round to expand its product and customer base. In December 2015, Sprout rolled out the Twitter Listening Report, an analytics tool to help brands monitor current and historical keyword usage across the entire network. Last summer, the company released Bambu, a powerful advocacy platform that encourages employees to share curated company content across their personal social networks.
