IC/PBS is a chronic, painful bladder syndrome primarily found in women. Common symptoms include urinary urgency, frequency, and pelvic pain. IC/PBS is not caused by bacteria and cannot be treated with antibiotics. IC/PBS is a chronic inflammatory condition of the bladder that is best treated with a combination of medication, lifestyle adjustments, diet, bladder treatments, and pelvic floor physical therapy.
