In-Office, Limited Incision Facelift Available in Austin
Austin, TX (PRWEB) April 04, 2016 -- Edward D. Buckingham, M.D. is excited to bring the Limited Incision Facelift to his patients. The minimally invasive technique can provide dramatic results with shorter recovery time and fewer complications than traditional facelift procedures. Dr. Buckingham is known for providing natural yet significant results with this innovative procedure.
The Limited Incision Facelift was created by Dr. Buckingham to rejuvenate the face without the pain or recovery of more extensive procedures. While not for everyone, the technique makes an excellent choice for younger patients or those with minimal neck banding or fatty excess in the neck. This procedure can bring dramatic improvements to early signs of aging, as the Superficial Musculoaponeurotic System (SMAS) is addressed for a smoother, tighter appearance.
The Limited Incision Facelift is performed in Dr. Buckingham’s office, taking from one and a half to two hours to complete. Light sedation with oral pills are used. Small incisions are made around the ear confining the bruising and swelling to these less visible areas.
This technique has less downtime than the tradition facelift/rhytidectomy. One major benefit of the Limited Incision Facelift is the short recovery period. In about seven to eight days, most patients are ready to return to work or social activities, with complete return to all activities in three weeks and only minimal redness in the incision lines and mild swelling left to resolve beyond this time period.
Dr. Buckingham does not believe in a one-size-fits-all facelift. Each patient coming to Buckingham Center for Facial and Plastic Surgery will receive customized procedure to address their unique concerns. “You’re the person who is important to us. You’re the person who is experiencing some changes. Our concern is to meet your goals,” states Dr. Buckingham. His Limited Incision Facelift is one example of his tailored procedures.
Dr. Buckingham is an alumnus of the Southern Methodist University, University of Texas at Austin, and the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. As a long-term resident of Austin, he has been serving the area for more than a decade.
