WoundRounds® Announces Unique Scheduling Tool for Risk Assessment
Schaumburg, IL (PRWEB) March 17, 2016 -- WoundRounds®, the leading wound management solution, announces a unique built-in tool for scheduling Braden Risk Assessments. The new scheduler allows wound care clinicians to monitor and individualize patient risk assessment schedules for the prevention of pressure ulcers.
Pressure ulcers are unfortunately common, painful and costly for patients and healthcare providers alike. The Braden Scale is a clinically validated tool that is widely used to assess risk and help prevent patients from developing pressure ulcers. Most electronic medical records systems (EMRs) offer a means to document Braden scores.
“WoundRounds takes this a step further,” according to Mike Diamond, CEO of Telemedicine Solutions, makers of WoundRounds. “WoundRounds’ unique tool offers options to standardize risk assessment frequency based on CMS Guidelines (upon admission or readmission, weekly times 4, monthly and quarterly thereafter) and to modify intervals based on patients’ needs.”
The built-in scheduler allows healthcare providers to individualize care, amending the frequency of a patient’s risk assessment when there is a significant change in the patient’s status. The WoundRounds system prompts clinicians with alerts for Braden Risk Assessments that are due each day, as well as for assessments that are overdue. Dashboards also enable managers to monitor alerts and track compliance with facility and/or with corporate policies for assessing pressure ulcer risk.
“The healthcare providers we serve are dedicated to providing patient care that meets the very highest standards. We’re proud to provide technology that empowers providers and their care teams to enhance patient quality though excellence in wound care,” Diamond adds.
