Salaam Ahmad, 27, from Swindon has won a male modelling competition to be the new face of London modelling agency Image Models. Salaam was selected from models who applied across the country through the website and social media.
After fending off thousands of other rivals, Salaam managed to impress the panel of judges from the modelling agency in London, including founder of Image Models Simon Andrews. The judge stated, ''Finding talented male models like Salaam Ahmad is why we held this competition.''
The former Swindon Academy pupil, who is now signed to the agency said, "I always believed I had what it takes to be a male models, and am looking forward to being in magazines but want an agent to get more promotion.''
Salaam Ahmad, who lives with girlfriend Katy Hornby, was entered into a modelling competition by sister Amirah, 24, a teacher at Sacred Heart Primary School. After hearing about the competition through social media, she asked her brother if he would pose for a couple of photos. After sending in her photos to Image Models she was shocked to find that that were well received by the judges.
Thousands of entries were eventually whittled down to four entrants and then one winner was chosen. Salaam has not only won a modelling contract, a photo shoot for this portfolio but has also been named 'Model of the Month' by Image Models.
The now professional male model from Swindon has always wanted to go into modelling and has a background in men's fashion. When asked about the future, Salaam stated, ''My ambition is to be the next David Gandy and make a name for myself in this industry.''
