HomeAway Continues Initiative for Responsible Renting During SXSW
AUSTIN, Texas (PRWEB) March 17, 2016 -- The fervor around SXSW in Austin is well-documented. Hundreds of thousands of people, even the Obamas, have descended on Austin and will continue to do so this week to attend the annual conference and festival, many staying in short-term rental (STR) properties.
Short-term rentals on HomeAway.com® are booked at a nearly full capacity for the duration of the events.
HomeAway®, in an extension of the newly launched Stay Neighborly initiative, wants to remind those coming to Austin and immersing themselves into its communities that they must act as a part of that community, and not create a nuisance for their new neighbors.
Short-term rentals have long been a popular option for families and groups to stay in a whole home while on both leisure and business trips, like those during SXSW. From HomeAway’s perspective, the best thing to remember for STRs during SXSW is to know your ABCs: Always Be Courteous!
Here’s a few pointers that HomeAway shared with its incoming guests this week:
• NOISE: Keep it down after hours. You’ll appreciate peace and quiet after a full day at SXSW, too.
• PARKING: Be mindful of your neighbors. Only park your vehicle where permitted.
• TRASH: Clean up after yourself. Adhere to the property’s trash disposal guidelines.
• GUESTS: Leave the party at the party. No large gatherings in your STR.
“The events around SXSW are exciting for all involved, and HomeAway wants to remind all visitors to Austin to Stay Neighborly,” said Tom Hale, HomeAway Chief Operating Officer. “Short-term rental owners and managers should clearly communicate with their guests on proper conduct while a guest in Austin.”
If community members need to report any inappropriate behavior, please contact the property owner or manager, the authorities with City of Austin (dialing 311) or reporting directly to HomeAway here: https://help.homeaway.com/articles/How-can-I-Stay-Neighborly-as-a-community-member.
