Internationally Acclaimed Chor Boogie to Unveil New Exhibition, Hieros Gamos, in Miami
Miami, FL (PRWEB) March 17, 2016 -- Renowned spray paint and street style artist Chor Boogie will open his newest riveting exhibition on March 24, 2016 to the public at Macaya Gallery in Miami, on view until April 22, 2016. Hieros Gamos: A Vision of Feminine Power will feature Chor Boogie’s signature emotional and thought-provoking works using the elements of the Rococo and Baroque periods mixed with Madonna’s iconography, as interpreted through spray paint and contemporary street art styles. In addition, it will feature a live avant-garde ritual burlesque performance piece by performance artists Bast and Lady Eternal Love on opening night.
Highly anticipated by critics and collectors, Hieros Gamos celebrates the inner marriage and/or struggle of Logos versus Eros, reason versus creativity, sacred versus profane, and passion versus peace.The exhibition will feature color-saturated emotional landscapes, with alluring, yet regal female forms, and large, captivating eyes.
A public opening reception for Hieros Gamos will take place at Macaya Gallery at 145 NW 36th Street in Miami on March 24 from 7pm-11pm. The gallery is open Tuesday to Friday from 11 a.m to 6 a.m., Saturday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sundays and Monday by appointment only.
About The Artist
Chor Boogie aka Joaquin Lamar Hailey, is a critically acclaimed spray paint artist whose visionary murals and art exhibitions have appeared all over the globe. He approaches his use of color as a form of therapy and visual medicine, and has been dubbed “the color shaman” by comrades and fans. Recognized for having achieved a groundbreaking level of technical and emotional virtuosity in the medium of spray paint, he has received international acclaim for his two dimensional work in murals and canvases, and was recently honored by Société Perrier as one of the top three street artists in the United States.
