Shaw Industries' Dr. Phil Stricklen Receives AMI Turf Industry Award
Dalton, Georgia (PRWEB) March 17, 2016 -- Dr. Phil Stricklen, Director of R&D for Shaw Industries' turf brands, has received a major award from Applied Market Information, Ltd. (AMI).
AMI is a group which hosts an annual conference highlighting technical and innovative developments in the synthetic turf industry around the world.
Stricklen received an award for his contribution to the development of synthetic turf testing standards which are used throughout the industry.
Stricklen is one of the most widely respected and admired professionals in the synthetic turf industry. He serves as the Synthetic Turf Task Group Chairman for the ASTM. ASTM International is a globally recognized leader in the development and delivery of voluntary consensus standards. He also serves on the Sports Testing and Sports Terminology committees of the ASTM. In addition, he serves on the Technical and Infill committees for the Synthetic Turf Council and is a member of the Turf Suppliers Committee of the NFL. Stricklen has been a featured speaker at numerous industry conferences around the world.
Stricklen has over 25 years’ experience in the development of new polymers, fibers, and synthetic turf products. He has a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Arkansas and a Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry from Iowa State University.
