Early Learning Ventures Announces Tim Garcia as Early Head Start Director
Denver, Colorado (PRWEB) March 21, 2016 -- Denver-based nonprofit Early Learning Ventures (ELV) announced today that Tim Garcia has been selected as the organization’s new Early Head Start Child Care Partnership Director. In this role, Tim will lead ELV’s work related to its annual $2.9 million Early Head Start – Child Care (EHS-CC) Partnership grant.
The EHS-CC Partnership grant program allows organizations to partner with local child care providers serving infants and toddlers from low income families to enhance early learning settings and increase access to high-quality child care for more families. Through ELV’s grant award, EHS services for 240 eligible children and families are being deployed using ELV’s shared services network in Arapahoe, Garfield, Mesa and Pueblo counties in Colorado, ultimately impacting a collective total of more than 1,700 children throughout the 32 market-based child care center and home providers. Children and families receive comprehensive EHS services, and providers will receive facility upgrade scholarships, business support, and staff professional development.
Tim joined ELV in March 2015 as Quality Improvement Coordinator where he oversaw a team working directly with licensed child care and family child care home programs, ensuring continuous improvement for the staff and steady progress on outcomes for the children, and has now been promoted to lead the entire division. Tim has 14 years of experience in the early childhood education sector, with more than 5 years of experience working directly for Head Start/Early Head Start Grantees in a leadership role. He has also served as program director at Qualistar Colorado, providing oversight of statewide quality assessments. Tim graduated from the University of New Mexico, College of Education, with a Master of Arts in Language, Literacy, and Socio-Cultural Studies and earned his Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts from Duquesne University in Pittsburg PA.
Judy Williams, ELV Executive Director said, “Tim has shown outstanding leadership and management since joining the ELV team, and we are excited to have him move into this new position and lead the ELV-EHS initiative.”
