Gummy Bear Breast Implants Available Again In The Bay Area, Says Dr. Kamakshi Zeidler

After one of the makers of the popular silicone gel breast implants known as “Gummy Bears” voluntarily pulled the product from the market last year for manufacturing inspections, the implants are now back in plastic surgeons' offices. “These implants passed rigorous tests and are available once again to provide a beautiful option for breast augmentation,” says Dr. Zeidler.

Silicone gel, or 'Gummy Bear' breast implants provide a beautiful option for breast augmentation.

“Women seeking a natural look and feel with breast augmentation have went for the so-called 'gummy bear' implants in a big way ever since they came on the market a few years ago,” says Dr. Kamakshi Zeidler, a San Francisco Bay Area plastic surgeon with extensive experience in using the implants. But last October, the first company to offer the anatomically shaped silicone gel breast implants in the U.S. pulled the product from the market. The manufacturer voluntarily stopped distribution of the implants due to compliance issues at a facility in Brazil. Now, the popular implants are available once again in the U.S.

“I am happy that the company took a responsible approach to ensure their products meet the highest standards, and I am even happier that their extensive testing has shown their products meet the highest standards and are now available again. I continue to feel very confident when recommending these beautiful implants to my patients,” says Dr. Zeidler. “Personally, I have missed being able to offer this option for both cosmetic breast augmentation for women wanting more fullness in their breasts and reconstructive breast surgery for patients with breast cancer.”

“These silicone gel implants provide a very nice option for women who want fullness without a rounded top of the breast, which often results in a 'fake' or obviously augmented look,” says Dr. Zeidler. “'Gummy Bear' implants also shape the breast and provide a very stable, long lasting appearance.”

“Since the company began selling their implants in the US a few years ago, they have upheld high standards by only selling their products to Board Certified Plastic Surgeons and by providing high quality implants,” says Dr. Zeidler. “The exceptional results created by some of their uniquely designed implants have made them some of the most popular styles among my patients.” To learn more about breast augmentation or other plastic surgery procedures, call the office of Dr. Kamakshi Zeidler at 408-559-7177 and visit
