Blazegraph CEO Brad Bebee to Speak at IDC HPC User Forum
WASHINGTON, D.C. (PRWEB) March 21, 2016 -- Blazegraph, creator of the industry’s first GPU-accelerated high-performance database for large graphs, today announced that its CEO and Managing Partner Brad Bebee will be a speaker at the IDC HPC User Forum, which takes place April 11-13 in Tucson, Ariz. Bebee will discuss “Graph Analysis Using GPUs, with Real-World Examples” in a session entitled “Advanced Analytics/Machine Learning/Deep Learning,” on April 12 at 10:45 a.m. The presentation will feature a number of use cases for Blazegraph, including applications in cultural heritage with the British Museum and large-scale regulatory compliance in the finance industry.
"The world is moving from static searches to a new era of dynamic knowledge discovery that's needed for more complex, more economically important problems, such as precision medicine, smart manufacturing and the Internet of Things," said Steve Conway, IDC research vice president for high performance computing and data analysis. “Blazegraph GPU-accelerated graph analysis product is designed to power this new capability."
Blazegraph GPU delivers 200x to 300x graph query acceleration, leveraging NVIDIA’s General Purpose Graphics Processing Unit (GP-GPU) technology to exploit the superior bandwidth to main memory and effective parallelism of GPUs. Blazegraph’s high-performance computing on a cluster of 64 NVIDIA K40 GPUs enables users to traverse a scale-free graph of 4.3 billion directed edges in .15 seconds for a throughput of 32 billion traversed edges per second (32 GTEPS).
“Blazegraph is at the forefront of changing the way businesses, governments and academics approach large-scale graph data analytics,” said Bebee. “Our users are experiencing the benefits first-hand, as we’re able to deliver graph analytics 100 times faster and 40 times less expensive than CPU-based solutions.”
The HPC User Forum was created in 1999 by IDC, in close partnership with users and vendors in the technical high-performance computing (HPC) industry, to promote the health of the global HPC industry and address issues of common concern. The forum offers a unique service that identifies buyer/user requirements and vendor capabilities within this market and promotes the interests of HPC users worldwide in industry/commerce, government and academia.
About Blazegraph
Formerly known as SYSTAP, LLC, Blazegraph is a provider of highly scalable software for solving complex graph and machine learning algorithms. Founded in 2006, the company is the creator of Blazegraph DB, an ultra-high performance graph database supporting up to 50 billion edges on a single machine. Blazegraph GPU and Blazegraph DASL are its disruptive new technologies using GPUs to enable extreme scaling that is thousands of times faster and 40 times more affordable than CPU-based solutions. Fortune 500 companies and government agencies – including DARPA, EMC, Wikimedia Foundation and Yahoo7 – rely on Blazegraph for graphs at scale because, in graphs, size matters.
