Podcasting pioneer Blubrry has once again pushed the limits in the industry. The updated Blubrry Podcast Directory now has grown to more than 300,000 shows, making it the largest directory in podcasting.
The expanded directory was built through the Blubrry podcast discovery system, Blubrry users, and subscribe options such as Subscribe on Android and Subscribe by Email. All Blubrry users’ podcasts have been added to the directory. In addition, all podcasters -- whether they are a Blubrry user or not -- can claim their show and enjoy advantages including:
*Being featured on Blubrry Apps and Channels.
*Access to free tools and services such as free podcast statistics.
*The option to participate in advertising opportunities.
“The expanded directory benefits both podcasters and audiences as it creates a one-stop shop while promoting shows,” explained Todd Cochrane, RawVoice/Blubrry CEO. “At Blubrry, we believe in promoting the shows, not ourselves.”
Podcasters who have been added to the directory will find that their listing includes multiple subscribe links and a link to their website. Podcasts can be removed from the directory listing by request.
Listeners can search the directory and create a playlist via MyCast, listen to featured shows via Roku, and visit the podcast website for show notes and more information on the show for each listing.
“By expanding the directory, we have provided more opportunities for podcasters and their shows to be easily located,” said RawVoice/Blubrry CIO Angelo Mandato. “I am excited to have every podcast imaginable available on blubrry.com.”
The Blubrry directory allows listeners to subscribe to any podcast they want, however they want, he said. “Blubrry has the only podcast directory with subscribe tools for Android or Apple devices, and even by email.”
Since 2005, Blubrry media communities and directories have offered content creators the power to make money through advertising, receive detailed audience measurements and host their audio and video.
