Ceremony to be held at Eagle Gate College Layton Campus on March 24th 3:00 p.m.

On Thursday March 24th, 2016, at 3:00 p.m., Eagle Gate College, along with the Davis County Chamber of Commerce Lakesider Committee, will celebrate the culmination of a goal set over a year ago with a ribbon cutting ceremony presenting the new nursing program and learning laboratory. The ceremony and open house will take place at Eagle Gate College’s Layton campus, 915 North 400 West, Layton.

The renovation began in the summer 2015. The expansion of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program includes additional classrooms, faculty offices, and a 6-bed medical laboratory dedicated to hands-on training for student nurses. The ribbon cutting ceremony will include an open house with faculty-led tours of the newly renovated space. Attendees will also view the newly-added dental assisting laboratory also added to the campus last year.

“It is an exciting time to be at Eagle Gate College. With the College’s focus on health professions, the new nursing lab will be a place where students will be educated to become professional nurses,” said campus president, Chris Nickell. “We have done a great job of ensuring that we have enough new graduates to help the baby boomers as they retire,” Nickell said.

Eagle Gate College was established in 1979 to address the rapidly growing demand for educated and skilled professionals in Utah. Today the College continues to assist students who are transitioning from underemployment or unemployment to rewarding careers. Located just off Interstate 15 at 915 North 400 West in Layton, Eagle Gate College provides quality, affordable degrees in Utah’s in-demand careers.
