Welch Healthcare and Retirement Group Joins Walk for Hospice of the South Shore
Norwell MA (PRWEB) March 24, 2016 -- Welch Healthcare and Retirement Group raised over $5,000 for the 25th Anniversary Walk for Hospice of the South Shore held at South Shore Plaza in Braintree, Massachusetts. The annual one-mile walk raises funds to support local families as they manage the complexities associated with hospice care for a loved one. The team from Welch Healthcare and Retirement Group, a corporate Walk sponsor, was one of many participating in this year’s event that drew thousands of walkers. Hundreds of generous families, caregivers and friends of South Shore Hospital’s Home Care Division, which includes South Shore VNA-Hospice of the South Shore, have helped raise $141,830 to date.
Welch Group’s Allerton House Assisted Living at Central Park in Weymouth, led by Team Captain Amanda Annis, was once again the company’s top fundraiser. The community collected $1,921.85 for South Shore VNA-Hospice. Other top fundraisers for the Welch Group include Lynda Chuckran, team captain for Welch Healthcare and Retirement Group in Norwell, which raised $1,318, and Kim Vallatini, team captain for Allerton House Assisted Living at Harbor Park in Hingham, which raised $1,171.
This year marks a significant milestone as South Shore Hospital is celebrating its 25th Walk for Hospice event. Every dollar raised from the Walk benefits Hospice of the South Shore patients. Over the past 25 years the South Shore Hospital’s Walk for Hospice has raised over $4.3 million.
