Criteria Labs Enters Partnership with Nanolab Technologies to Provide Full Turnkey Solutions for PEMs
Austin,TX (PRWEB) March 30, 2016 -- With the increased use of Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) components requiring a higher level of upscreening and qualification, Criteria Labs and Nanolab Technologies are partnering to promote turn-key PEM upscreening services, with a focus on copper wire bonded devices. Built on decades of experience and world-class capabilities, the two companies complement each other seamlessly to perform this work for their mutual customers.
Plastic Encapsulated Microcircuits (PEMs) continue to play a growing role in Aerospace and Defense applications, primarily due to availability and lower cost. More recently, the shift from gold wire bonded PEMs to copper wire bonded PEMs has created greater uncertainty for Aerospace and Defense Integrators, mostly due to mechanical reliability issues (cracked die, wire lift, delamination, and corrosion) and manufacturing process control. Integrators are now forced to increase their upscreening requirements and frequency to ensure devices can be used in non-commercial environments with confidence.
