Play Corner, Children’s App Developer, Enters the Music Education Industry with New Piano Instruction App
Miami, FL (PRWEB) March 24, 2016 -- Play Corner, creator of educational children’s mobile apps, has released its latest product, PlayCorner Piano. The app’s educational approach and content is powered by the Brain-Based Piano Method, a unique method for teaching music and piano to children that combines accepted best practices of music and piano teaching with insights from cognitive psychology in a learning system that is comprehensive, engaging and creative.
The PlayCorner Piano app is designed for beginning piano players, ranging in age from preschoolers to early elementary. It is the first intelligent learning platform in the kids’ music education marketplace, with interactive learning segments that reward the student for correct answers and show the student corrections for incorrect responses. It has a virtual piano, a fun design, an animated teacher, and videos to show the student what to play. It is a freemium app with several beginning lessons available for free, after which in-app purchases kick in for subsequent lessons. The lessons complement the first, or “Initiation” level in the method. The app is currently available on Android, and the team is working on an iOS version for release later this year, along with more content for both platforms.
Leidys Monascal and Mihai Preda, creators of the Brain-Based Piano Method and owners of the Miami Piano Studio, say “We are thrilled to place our method in the hands of little ones when they are not able to sit at a piano. This opens up the door for students to embrace learning piano wherever they are”. The method, which combines elements from the Kodali, Orff, Dalcroze and Suzuki methods with insights from cognitive psychology, is used by other music and piano teachers in the United States and abroad. Aside from the app, local students can take lessons at the studio, and others can purchase their series of instructional books and CDs.
Madeleine Funes, Founder of Play Corner, says “This is just the first of many applications of the intelligent learning technology we have developed and designed for kids. Kids are going to use our mobile devices, so why not make the time educational?” Madeleine partnered with co-founder George Moss to develop the technology.
