Berkeley Nucleonics Corporation (BNC) offers optical outputs to trigger, delay, gate and sync multiple devices for use in high EMI and RFI environments. Optical outputs allow distribution over longer distances while maintaining the precision timing and coherence between channels. The Model 577, BNC’s latest digital delay/pulse generator, provides the ability to select timing references for each channel. In addition to this the unit allows control of both the delay and width of each channel and independent channel amplitudes and polarities.

”This optical output solution addresses our customers’ needs”, stated John Yee, Sr. Applications Manager. “By selecting a transmit-receiver family, the unit can be used in a variety of applications and can offer OEM customers even more connector and speed options."

The Model 577 comes in 4 and 8 channel versions with options allowing you to combine both optical and electrical outputs in pairs. For example, on a four-channel device, 2 or 4 of the channels can have optical output configuration. The wavelength and light properties selected are also compatible with Fast Ethernet standard 100Base-SX. Front panel placement of the outputs is ideal for noisy environments or communication applications. With 820 nm or 1300 nm inputs and outputs available the user is able to satisfy high precision application specifications.

Customers looking for a smaller footprint of higher number of channels BNC offers OEM card level, 1U rack mountable, and 20 channel 3U options. BNC’s internally developed, complimentary DDG-MUC software allows user control of up to 100 channels in one GUI. Please contact the factory for more details or pricing.
