Greg Waite, CEO of InventionShare™, announced today that Circuit Seed™, a new family of circuit building blocks for processing analog signals using fully digital components will have a significant impact on the current mobile phone market leading to the next generation phone powered by Circuit Seed.

Overall, Circuit Seed provides the opportunity for: extended range, faster processing, better resolution, enhanced audio fidelity, reduced foot print, better signal reception, increased sensitivity, improved accuracy, and enhanced touch interaction. It can free up space for additional sensors, lower power consumption and, importantly, provide the inherent ability to extend battery life.

According to Smart Insights, an internet marketing firm, 80 percent of all internet users own a mobile phone and access the internet through mobile. There also has been a 1,525% increase in mobile data usage between 2010 and 2015 (source: Mediative). Over 6.8 billion people use mobile phones which is roughly 87 percent of the world’s population (source: Wikipedia). Globally, mobile traffic is about 30 percent of all internet activity (based on data from StatsCounter Global Stats). This provides a significant opportunity for one company to decisively dominate the market by producing the next generation mobile phone.

Mr. Waite said, “We have an opportunity to work with manufacturers of smartphones at either the manufacturer level and through to their supply chain or with semiconductor companies directly that are making all of the analog components in mobile phones. The primary challenge for making a better product is reducing the analog footprint while providing superior analogy functionality. We have broken Moore’s law. This is not evolution, this is revolution.”

Circuit Seed inventions are founded on a mixture of decades of experience and creativity, supported by a robust portfolio of IP. Circuit Seed introduces a dramatic shift in the existing way of designing analog circuits, effectively eliminating many of the known shortcomings. Benefits include: unprecedented precision without precision parts; ultra-linear operation over an extreme dynamic range (>106); low noise, ultrahigh speed (analog at logic speed) and extreme low voltage (down to ~0.1V power supply); process parameter independence; compact footprint (amplifiers about the size of a couple of NAND gates); low power (~100uW for multi-GHz-range operation down to 10pW for KHz-range operation); and portable designs between ultra-deep sub-µm CMOS technology process nodes. This paradigm shift has eliminated the use of current mirrors or differential matched pairs with traditional bulky analog transistors while being able to recover from sleep mode at logic speed.

Simulation and silicon test results have demonstrated a dramatic reduction in power, better performance and higher accuracy, all with small integrated circuit footprints. The circuit designs are much simpler, reducing product costs with faster development, so less testing is required and there are fewer parts to assemble. These circuits are far more reliable in the newest CMOS processes, making Circuit Seed a real breakthrough all companies requiring digital circuits processing analog signals.

“We believe that all companies currently manufacturing components for the mobile phone industry will be using some form of Circuit Seed application in their products as early as Q1 2017,” said Mr. Waite.
