Soft-Lite Windows Named 2016 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year Sustained Excellence Award Winner by EPA
Streetsboro, OH (PRWEB) March 28, 2016 -- Soft-Lite Windows has been recognized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as a winner of the prestigious 2016 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year Sustained Excellence Award for its continued leadership in protecting the environment through superior energy efficiency achievements. This is the third consecutive year that Soft-Lite has achieved this elite Partner of the Year recognition from ENERGY STAR, moving the company up to the Sustained Excellence level of award. Soft-Lite will be recognized in Washington, D.C. on April 13, 2016, for its leadership in manufacturing products that earn the ENERGY STAR, the government-backed symbol of energy efficiency.
Soft-Lite's innovative ENERGY STAR achievements this past year included the development of a brand-new ENERGY STAR Marketing Collection - a wide array of customizable marketing and sales aides designed to make it easier and more effective for Soft-Lite dealers to help educate consumers about the ENERGY STAR Windows Program and encourage them to purchase ENERGY STAR certified Soft-Lite windows. Another key achievement was adding 32 new ENERGY STAR certified hurricane products. Soft-Lite’s entire hurricane impact-rated Armor Max Plus window line (double-hung, sliding and picture windows) was tested to NFRC standards and became ENERGY STAR certified. Unlike many ENERGY STAR qualified impact windows, AMP windows pass Large Missile Impact Level “D” tests and achieve HVHZ certification.
“By continued collaboration with ENERGY STAR, Soft-Lite is helping Americans save money, save energy, and do their part to reduce our nation’s greenhouse gas emissions that exacerbate climate change,” said EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy. “I’m proud to recognize Soft-Lite with the highest form of ENERGY STAR recognition, as the winner of the 2016 Partner of the Year – Sustained Excellence Award. Soft-Lite demonstrates a strong commitment to energy efficiency and to preserving a healthy planet for future generations.”
“We’re proud—and honored—to achieve national recognition from the EPA for the third year in a row, and to reach the most prestigious level of Sustained Excellence” said Tyson Schwartz, Soft-Lite Chief Sales & Marketing Officer. “ENERGY STAR is an integral part of Soft-Lite's business—it’s become the cornerstone of our commitment to energy efficiency. It’s exciting to see the impact we’ve made by producing not only the best, most innovative windows and doors in the industry—but the most energy-efficient products available. We also place great emphasis on educational and training materials to ensure that our employees, dealers and consumers have a clear understanding of the ENERGY STAR program and the benefits that energy-efficient products provide. We remain committed to continuing our work to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and protect the environment.”
The 2016 Partner of the Year Sustained Excellence Awards are given to a variety of organizations to recognize their contributions to reducing harmful carbon pollution through superior energy efficiency. These awards recognize ongoing leadership across the ENERGY STAR program, including energy-efficient products, services, new homes, and buildings in the commercial, industrial, and public sectors.
Since its inception in 1992, ENERGY STAR and its partners have helped prevent a total of more than 2.4 billion metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions. In 2014 alone, ENERGY STAR and its partners provided more than $11 billion in societal benefits due to reducing damages from climate change.
