Ted Cruz Turns to Social Media to Fuel Late Surge in GOP Race
NEW YORK, NY (PRWEB) March 29, 2016 -- Less than a week after securing an endorsement from former GOP candidate Jeb Bush, presidential hopeful Ted Cruz has joined iOS app Headliner to fuel social media engagement and extend outreach to millennials. Headliner is a mobile app built around video comments – allowing users to upload video commentary, while viewers respond with video replies and text comments.
“This election is about jobs and opportunity. It’s about you coming out of school, having a brighter future” says Cruz in his first Headliner post. The candidate then goes on to ask the Headliner community to join the conversation. “Let me know what questions you have. And I ask you to stand with us as we defend the Constitution and make sure that each generation has a brighter future than the one that preceded it.”
Although Cruz is the first presidential candidate to turn to Headliner to engage millennials, he is not the first politician, joining:
Senator Lindsey Graham
Rep. Eric Swalwell (CA)
Rep. Kathleen Rice (NY)
Rep. Elise Stefanik (NY)
Rep. Tim Ryan (OH)
Rep. Lee Zeldin (NY)
“We’re thrilled by the organic adoption of Headliner we’re seeing by the more social media-savvy politicians,” says Co-Founder, Caroline Klatt. “In what’s shaping up to be a pivotal election year, we’re glad Headliner is giving candidates and voters a way to open up dialogue, communicate face-to-face and exchange ideas.”
Headliner is available for download here.
