SEN Names First Vendor Partner as Businessperson of the Year
Charlotte, NC (PRWEB) March 30, 2016 -- The SEN Design Group announced earlier this month that Ken Anderson, CKD, President and CEO of Task Lighting Corp, was selected as the nineteenth recipient of the M. A. Peterson Best Businessperson of The Year Award. The award was presented during the organization’s National Spring Conference before a gathering of 250+ kitchen and bath dealer members and manufacturing partners at the Hyatt Regency Riverfront in downtown Jacksonville, Florida.
Breaking the mold from a typical dealer member recipient, Anderson, CKD was recognized for his earnest interest in people, and in this industry, his openness and willingness to mentor others, and his attitude that education is a life-long activity. He has also been a strong supporter of the SEN Network Management System since its debut in 2013 and a valued participant on the Advisory Council since the same year.
“In Ken Anderson, CKD, I see many of my father’s qualities such as a strong, ethical character, a caring attitude towards customers and staff, great conviction, and unsurpassed integrity. Above all, Ken’s uncompromised Business Ethics helped to make the selection process for the 2015 Best Businessperson pretty easy,” commented Ken Peterson, CKD, President of SEN Design Group.
The award is named in honor of Peterson’s father who made some notable contributions to the kitchen and bath industry during his 30-year career. In 1963, M. A. Peterson helped establish the industry’s leading trade organization, the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA), served on its Board of Directors for many years, was honored as the world’s first Certified Kitchen Designer (CKD), and inducted into the Industry Hall of Fame in 1988 - its inaugural year. The SEN Design Group makes this award annually in memory of M. A. Peterson who died in March of 1997 at the age of 94.
WarmlyYours Radiant Heating was awarded the Vendor Partner of the Year award for its continued support of SEN Educational programs, outstanding customer service, and solid increase in sales growth.
Other notable award recipients for 2015 included Brett Ruiz of Simply Distinct Kitchens & Baths (OH), as Rising Star and Best Startup, Fabuwood for Gold Vendor Performance, Whirlpool for Silver Vendor Performance, and Cutco Closing Gifts as the Vendor Newcomer of the Year.
