While many real estate websites exist that allow someone to search for a home, few—if any—are devoted to helping people research a community. Finding the right neighborhood is just as important as finding the right home, especially for empty nesters."

Danny Goodman has been named chief operating officer at 55places.com, a national online resource where mature adults and baby boomers can find, research and compare 55-plus and active adult communities across the country. The announcement was made by company founder and chief executive officer, Bill Ness.

Goodman has been the operations leader at Chicago-based 55places.com since joining the company in 2011 as vice president and partner. During that time, 55places.com has grown exponentially and now is the most comprehensive online tool for active adult home shopping and buying.

Prior to joining 55places.com, Goodman served as an executive with some of the nation’s largest homebuilders, including Ryland Homes, Pulte Homes and Del Webb. He gained valuable insight on active adult communities during his 12-year tenure at Del Webb and has brought that expertise to 55places.com. He continues to expand his knowledge by touring hundreds of 55-plus neighborhoods, planned developments and homes each year.

Founded in 2007, 55places.com was the brainchild of Bill Ness. While working in real estate sales, he discovered the industry lacked a central, reliable and unbiased resource where home shoppers could obtain information on active adult communities. So he created a comprehensive website to showcase real estate, facts, descriptions, and photos of 55-plus neighborhoods nationwide.

“While many real estate websites exist that allow someone to search for a home, few—if any—are devoted to helping people research a community,” said Ness. “Finding the right neighborhood is just as important as finding the right home, especially for empty nesters.”

With his meticulous attention to detail, Ness grew 55places.com to include amenities, floor plans, videos, and reviews on more 1,600 active adult communities in all 50 states. In addition to listing homes for sale, 55places.com connects interested homebuyers with handpicked partner agents who are local real estate experts to complete the purchase.

Ness has personally traveled to countless 55-plus communities and interviewed hundreds of residents, builders and agents around the country, giving him an unrivaled perspective on the active adult lifestyle.

Combined, Ness and Goodman not only have decades of experience, they also have compiled a wealth of data about active adult communities through the 55places.com website. They are available to answer questions or provide information regarding sales statistics and housing trends at the state, region and national level. Contact either executive at (773) 278-5500.
