Felix & Paul Studios, the leading creator of cinematic virtual reality experiences, has been honored with two Daytime Emmy Award nominations in the Outstanding Interactive Media - Original Daytime Program or Series category for the virtual reality experiences “Inside Impact: East Africa” and “Inside the Box of Kurios.” Co-founders Félix Lajeunesse and Paul Raphaël will be the Featured Creator at next month’s Tribeca Film Festival.
The eight-minute film “Inside Impact: East Africa” allows people anywhere to join President Clinton and Chelsea Clinton on their trip to see first-hand how lives are changed as a result of the Clinton Global Initiative. The VR film was produced and directed by Felix & Paul Studios in association with m ss ng p eces, executive produced by Matter Unlimited’s Rob Holtzer for Matter Unlimited’s “Inside Impact” social impact project and VR film series.
In the mysterious and fascinating realm of “Inside the Box of Kurios” inspired by Cirque du Soleil’s most recent touring show KURIOS™ Cabinet of Curiosities, your senses will be disoriented and your perceptions challenged, leaving you wondering if you imagined it all. The experience is a coproduction and a co-creation of Felix & Paul Studios and Cirque du Soleil Media. It was the winner of the 2015 Proto Award for Best Live Action Virtual Reality Experience.
“We are thrilled to have received these two nominations,” said Félix Lajeunesse, Co-Founder and Creative Director of Felix & Paul Studios. “Cinematic virtual reality is a new and evolving art form, and we are grateful to the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences for recognizing the medium.”
Both experiences are currently available for virtual reality devices on the Oculus store.
About Felix & Paul Studios
Felix & Paul Studios is dedicated to storytelling through the medium of live-action virtual reality (VR). In 2013, the Montreal-based company developed a proprietary 3D 360º camera system with accompanying post-production software and process - which set the industry standard for the highest-quality VR filmmaking. The studio combines this technological innovation with a unique, pioneering and in-depth approach to the new art of virtual reality storytelling - creating emotive cinematic experiences around content that is either original ("Nomads" and "Strangers") or in collaboration with existing franchises ("Jurassic World", Cirque du Soleil and "Wild"). Felix & Paul Studios invites audiences into intimate, visceral and emotive cinematic virtual reality experiences, organically immersing the viewer in experientially-driven storylines. Led by directors and visionaries Félix Lajeunesse and Paul Raphaël, the studio launched in 2014 as a three-person venture and has since grown into a fully operating studio.
