“Sure, you can wedge a stick tool under your arm while pushing the wheelbarrow, but if that pressure gives way, better hope you’re not wearing sandals,” said Jeanne White, WORX Senior Product Manager.

The new WORX® Universal Tool Holders solve the age-old dilemma of carrying a shovel, rake or other stick tool while pushing a wheelbarrow. To avoid this recipe for disaster, WORX giant clothespin-like tool holders clasp the rim of standard wheelbarrows or the multi-purpose Aerocart™ to secure stick tools during transport.
“Imagine pushing a wheelbarrow full of topsoil or gravel over uneven terrain, when the shovel slides off onto the ground,” said Jeanne White, WORX Senior Product Manager. “Sure, you can wedge a stick tool under your arm while pushing the wheelbarrow, but if that pressure gives way, better hope you’re not wearing sandals.”
Sold in pairs, WORX Universal Tool Holders are heavy-duty, spring-loaded clips that squeeze open and attach to the rim of a standard wheelbarrow or Aerocart. The clip’s straight jaw clamps tightly against the wheelbarrow’s outside frame. The handles form a “V,” into which the yard tool is inserted, and then pressed down and secured by spring pressure. Holders are notched inside the “V” to keep the tool’s handle from slipping. The stick tool is stored horizontally along the wheelbarrow or Aerocart’s frame for easy transport and retrieval.
If the user wants to transport two tools, such as a shovel and a hoe, two tool holder sets can be used, one on each side of the tub. The Universal Tool Holders are constructed of durable high strength polymer with chrome springs. Each holder measures 7-1/2 in. x 3-1/4 in.
The tool holders also feature removable spacers, which can be used to ensure a tight fit. Each spacer can be quickly attached or removed with a single Philips screw.
The WORX Universal Tool Holders (WA0235, $9.99/pair) are available at worx.com and other online retailers including Amazon.
When choosing a wheelbarrow or cart this spring, consider the WORX® Aerocart™. It’s a multi-purpose cart that can be used for dozens of moving projects around the house, yard or workplace. What makes the mobile cart unique are its dual-position wheels, which enable it to handle the work of eight carts.
Aerocart’s tubular steel, powder-coated frame and drop-down extension arms are durable and long lasting. The frame wraps around the steel, 3-cu.-ft.-capacity wheelbarrow tub. Two steel extension handles with foam-padded grips aid mobility. The handles are removable for transport and storage. Aerocart’s flat-free, 23.5 in. diameter, rubber composite tires maintain constant air pressure and never need inflating.
Aerocart’s optional accessories include a Wagon Conversion Kit, (WA0228, $79.99); Watering Bag, (WA0229, $19.99); Tub Organizer (WA0234, $29.99); Firewood Carrier (WA0232, $39.99) and Snow Plow Attachment, (WA0230, $39.99).
