Tecta America Registers First Roofing Apprenticeship in Alabama
Rosemont, IL (PRWEB) March 31, 2016 -- Tecta America Southeast – Birmingham has created the first registered apprenticeship through the state of Alabama. It was approved in 2015 with the Department of Labor, and the Office of Apprenticeship.
The apprenticeship is meant to train our existing workforce in all areas of roofing and train for OSHA certification, NCCER certification and other recognized industry certifications. It is also expected to boost recruiting of new talent from other industries and high schools. Courses within the program include: Overview of the Apprenticeship Program, Intro to Roofing, Intro to Insulation, and Construction Math.
Nicole Eisenhardt, Jim Holt and Jonathan Norman have been instrumental in putting the program together and starting the first training session. This program is a three year commitment.
