John has extensive experience representing financial institutions, non-traditional lenders, developers, and investors in complex financing. He has structured over $2 billion in loan transactions and gained an in-depth understanding of syndicated credit facilities as well as asset purchase arrangements, subordinate and mezzanine lending, intercreditor agreements, workouts, and foreclosure proceedings.
John also works with startups, emerging and established public and private businesses, investors, and entrepreneurs on all the legal matters companies need to get off the ground and running. He has negotiated and finalized technology transactions, including non-disclosure agreements, IP assignments, strategic alliance agreements, founder share purchase agreements, and software licenses. John has first-hand experience working with startups because he founded his own tech company, Parqer, in 2013.
Before joining Wick Phillips, John practiced at an international law firm. He graduated cum laude from Southern Methodist University Law School and has been recognized by the State Bar of Texas for his outstanding pro bono efforts.
