Janine Francolini Named "Mental Health Hero" Award Recipient by Trillium Family Services for "Keep Oregon Well"
Portland, OR (PRWEB) March 31, 2016 -- Janine Francolini, founder of the Flawless Foundation, has been named one of the 2016 “Keep Oregon Well” Mental Health Heroes Award recipients by Trillium Family Services.
Founded to commemorate Mental Health Awareness Month in May, the “Keep Oregon Well” Mental Health Heroes Awards honors 31 people, nonprofits, and community groups who help pave the way for mental and behavioral healthcare to thrive in Oregon and the Pacific Northwest. Francolini’s fellow recipients of the award for 2016 include Oregon Governor Kate Brown, Officer Derrick Samuels of the Corvallis Police, Jennifer Pepin of the J. Pepin Art Gallery, Dave Dahl of Dave’s Killer Bread, and Gina Nikkel of the Foundation for Excellence in Mental Health Care.
“I was overwhelmed with gratitude when I received the news of this award,” says Francolini. “To have Flawless recognized for our service to children, parents, mental health professionals and educators in Oregon is a very special honor. Flawless was born at my kitchen table in Portland, and our experiences here in the Pacific Northwest have helped us launch the message of ‘seeing the perfection in everyone’ that we now carry through our symposiums, awareness campaigns, and national advocacy work.”
Janine Francolini is the Founder of the Flawless Foundation and Flawless Strategies. She serves on the board of the Saks Institute for Mental Health Law, Policy and Ethics at the USC Gould School of Law and is a member of the Dorothea Dix Think Tank, advancing their mission to decriminalize mental illness. She sits on numerous advisory boards in both the non-profit and corporate sector, and is a frequent contributor to The Huffington Post. A sought-after speaker and consultant, Janine collaborates with clients in numerous industries around mental health advocacy, communications, fundraising, and motivational techniques.
Janine Francolini and her 30 fellow 2016 “Keep Oregon Well” Mental Health Heroes will be honored at Trillium’s Black & Gold Gala, occurring on Saturday, April 9th, at the Leftbank Annex in Portland, Oregon. The Gala will be hosted by Emmy Award-winning journalist and author Sheila Hamilton, herself an advisory board member of the Flawless Foundation. On May 2, Francolini’s story will also be featured on the Trillium website, on the radio at 101.9 Kink FM with Sheila Hamilton, and across social media channels via the #KeepOregonWell campaign.
