RedLink, a business and market intelligence platform for academic publishers and libraries, has announced the appointment of Kent R. Anderson as the organization’s new Chief Executive Officer to lead the company’s business and operations. Mr. Anderson will lead RedLink from 4th April 2016.

RedLink aims to create value through innovative and integrated data solutions that cut across platforms and scholarly ecosystem. Anderson has a history of leading teams to success in the digital era. As Publisher at AAAS/Science, he helped guide AAAS through its first acquisition in decades and secure Board approval for two new journal launches, while also helping AAAS’ newest OA journal, Science Advances, exceed its start-up goals. As the CEO and Publisher for the Journal of Bone & Joint Surgery and its parent company, STRIATUS, he grew revenues in the orthopaedic publishing market at an impressive rate during his five-year tenure by launching innovative new titles and educational initiatives. As an executive in the Massachusetts Medical Society’s Publishing Division and the Publishing Director for the New England Journal of Medicine, he helped transition this important title into the digital age. As Director of Medical Journals at the American Academy of Pediatrics, he created leading-edge online-only initiatives and titles. During his career, he developed some of the first online continuing medical education (CME) sites, created the first PowerPoint slide sets in an online journal, launched early e-only journal publishing programs, and pioneered rapid-publication approaches. Anderson also writes and speaks occasionally on topics of interest to scholarly publishers and leaders.
